WUGs Getting Involved in Free WebSphere Live
for SOA . . .
At the last GWC User Group Leader (UGL) call,
Barbara Formichelli, IBM liaison for User Group
Programs, gave a briefing on the WebSphere Live for
SOA and Gartner Symposium ITxpo events that will
highlight sessions, demos and presentations about
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
The GWC encourages members to attend and get
involved in these events. GWC is sending out
information to the local User Group Leaders about the
specific events.
Some WUGs have actively supported the WebSphere
Live for SOA events as follows:
- The Northern California WUG, headed by
Andrea Dugas, set up their September 13th meeting
at the WebSphere Live for SOA event in San Mateo,
CA
- The Detroit WUG members attended the
WebSphere Live for SOA event in Southfield, MI
which has an automotive industry focus. The Detroit
WUG participation is led by Denise Eick, WUG
leader.
- In New York, Sandy Carter, VP, WebSphere
Marketing, Strategy and Channels, Marie Wieck, VP,
WebSphere Platform, and Deon Newman, Director,
WebSphere Go To Market attended the New York
WUG meeting to talk about SOA and announced the
WebSphere Live for SOA event that is coming to New
York City on September 21st.
There are many more WebSphere Live for SOA
events coming to cities around the world. Take
advantage of this unique opportunity to learn first
hand from IBM about SOA. Check and see when the
WebSphere Live for SOA event is coming to a city
near you.
Speak About Your SOA Experience at a WebSphere Live for SOA event
GWC is working jointly with the IBM WebSphere team
to invite GWC members who are currently working
with SOA to speak and field a Q&A session about
their experiences with SOA at the WebSphere Live!
for SOA events. The experience with SOA does not
have to be in depth but they must be
knowledgeable on the topic and have a compelling
story. Travel and living expenses will be covered
under IBM guidelines. We are currently looking for
speakers in events at these locations:
- Charlotte, NC – September 22, 2005
- Costa Mesa, CA – October 19, 2005
