Hi! If you need a full-blown stock control application for gem stones
written in modular and structured (NO GOTO) COBOL language you may go
to my web site, under construction, to download four ZIP files, two
for executable and source files in English language and two more for
French language. It is compiled with Microfocus COBOL compiler,
running under Microsoft Windows 95 thru Windows XP but not under
Windows 7.
Attention! For some reason that I ignore for the moment, sample data
files (*.DAT) are blocked when you run the program after unzippiing
the zip file containing the executable elements. The program not being
able to read the sample *.DAT files generates a runtime error. I have
used "Unlocker", a freeware program that you can search and download
from internet, to unlock the folder which contains the unzipped
executable file and its components. This problem occurred under
Windows XP. I do not know if it may occur under the previous versions
of Windows operating system. It seems to me that it happens only once
and after having unzipped the related ZIP file.
