Subject: COBOL Application

Message:
We currently have a single mission critical COBOL application that sporadically fails on Windows 2003 Server (it did not fail on Windows 2000). We are using an old version of the MicroFocus NET Express COBOL compiler that does not support Windows 2003. That old product was much cheaper and self contained. MicroFocus has since gone to much more expense and complex server based architecture and licensing. On the one hand, our single finance calculation class (with no database processing) does not require the overhead of the new offerings, but on the other hand it is critical and cannot spontaneously break on the server.
Because the MicroFocus product structure is much more complex and expensive, it is worth a quick survey of alternative solutions.
Can anyone please suggest an better solution.

Thanks in advance.

Can this not be run on an independent PC with (e.g.) AcuCobol?

Marco:

Kalyani implied that the financial calculation class was the problem. I suspect that it may be very difficult to migrate the class to another compiler environment.

I am also assuming that running the application on a standalone PC as opposed to a server may not meet their architectural requirements for the application.

friend good day your problem is financial for your compiler why not upgrade your compiler to support the windows 2003.
