| RE: Software to document COBOL programs
Message: I don't know of any analysis or business rule extraction software which is free. They usually carry a pretty high price tag. But when you consider the value of these tools and the amount of money that they save in a migration project, the high cost is actually a very minimal expenditure.
Be careful about using free software. The value is typically exactly what you paid for it. While that may seem like a "breakeven," it is actually a loss when you consider the value of the time you wasted trying to learn it or implement it.
