Message: I spoke with Matt Dean who created COBOLScript and ordered a copy directly from him.
The links to all his Web sites do not work - he said that his Web site names were stolen from the company hosting him - the cobolscript.com goes to a porn site.
He said something about coming out with a new Web site for COBOLScript.
I have been testing the copies that I purchased from him and I am impressed. I am developing a Web site that will run on a dedicated server.
However, I might offer virtual domains an allow those who want to run their copy of the script or if they have a licensed copy of any other COBOL development to forgo the costs involved with a dedicated server.
If there are any interest in having a virtual hosting that allows running COBOL files, let me know.

| RE: Cobolscript
Message: George,
I would definitely be interested in learning more about your virtual hosting idea.
I'm in the process of setting up a local COBOL users group. We're already listed on COBUG's site, but have not yet really launched. The only thing lacking is a website with e-mail list management, file upload/download areas, and the like. (COBUG doesn't yet offer such services to its local user groups.)
A Yahoo group or Google group would be an obvious choice. In fact I just created one yesterday. But there's something very appealing about the idea of hosting our local group's website on a COBOL-aware server. If it can't be a web-enabled CICS application, why not CobolScript?
Thanks,
- Matt
P.S. Just in case anybody else was interested in learning more about CobolScript, here's the current (and legitimate) website:
