Subject: Concerning Copy statement
Message: error JMN2006I-S: File-name in SELECT clause must be unique file-name in description entry of FD or SD.
1). I want to copy from a file but it gives the above error. Please tell me what to do.
2). If I want to open multiple files in the main file what are the steps.
Thank you in advance!
Cheers :)

| RE: Concerning Copy statement
Message: Assuming that the "files" are all stored in on physical file, you can define several record layouts. Having multiple record layouts in one physical file is like redefining an area of Working-Storage - they would all share the same physical address space, so you can only store one at a time - unless you define separate layouts for them in Working-Storage (in whiich case, as you read them, you'd have to move them to their appropriate location).
I hope this answers your question.
