Subject: 100 cool things

Message:
We are working in 100 open source examples of how to do cool things with OO Cobol, starting with Fujitsu Cobol (both PowerCobol and NetCobol for .Net).

We are looking for colaborators with strong skills in OO, .Net Framework and a lot of free time to help us reviewing articles, writing new examples etc. Again, this is an open source project.

There are 10 categories including Data structures, Design Patterns, Dynamic Graphics generation, RIA, XML parsing, Portal support etc.

Some categories has more examples than others, for instance, we are implementing all 23 GOF patterns in OO Cobol in Design Patterns section.

As for now, August/2009, we already implemented OO Cobol examples of design patterns such as Singleton, Adapter and Abstract Factory. Command and Bridge are on their way to go live and much more is coming in the next months.

The web site is up and running, but available only for direct colaborators until all GOF examples are completed (and a bunch of other examples, after all nobody want to navigate in an empty web site).

Join us! We are going to shake this universe, one compiler at time!

www.100coolthings.net

With best regards, 100CoolThings Team

PS: and all for free!
